Migration Policy Institute Announces 2012 E Pluribus Unum Prize Applications

The Migration Policy Institute [www] announces the opening of applications for the E Pluribus Unum Prize 2012 [www]. The E Pluribus Unum Prizes, with funding from the JM Kaplan Fund [www], are a national awards program that provides prizes to exceptional initiatives that promote immigrant integration. In 2012, the program will award three $50,000 prizes and one Corporate Leadership Award.
The awards recognize and reward outstanding initiatives that assist immigrants and their families to join the mainstream of U.S. society. The award is open to all types of entities, including individuals, nonprofit and community organizations, private businesses, religious groups, and government entities, agencies, or officials operating in the United States.
The application period for the 2012 Prizes runs from January 2 - March 15, 2012. Begin the Application [www] process, or go to the FAQ's [www] for basic information.
Past winners of this prestigious award have included the International Rescue Committee [www], a refugee resettlement agency in San Diego, as well as the San Francisco-based Welcome Back Initiative [www], which helps foreign-trained immigrant health professionals return to the health care workforce at their previous skill level.
